2. Why do we collect personal data?

We process personal data only for predefined purposes:

With the user’s consent, we collect email addresses so that we can send news and information about our services and products.

We collect information about how our website is used so that we can improve and develop our service.

If a user has joined our mailing list or has otherwise consented to direct marketing, we may send them electronic direct marketing.

We collect information about website visitors so that we can target advertising about products, services and offers that may interest them across different communication channels.

We collect information about website visitors so that we can improve our customer service.

We collect information with users’ consent so that we can provide or arrange services for them.

3. Third parties

We use the services of a few third parties. These parties are always carefully selected so that we can be confident that they too comply with EU data protection law.

The service may also contain cookies from measurement and tracking services, advertising networks or other third parties.

3.1. Server platform

This website is hosted on a server located within the EU. The server is maintained by Purple Snow IT Oy. The maintainer is committed to complying with EU data protection law. The site is protected by, among other things: round-the-clock monitoring, HTTPS protection, regular updates, and storage of the collected data in databases protected by firewalls, encryption technologies, restricted access control and managed access rights.

3.2. Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to measure the use of our online services. Google Analytics may set cookies on the user’s device in order to collect information such as the number of visitors to the site. The data may also be used to show a visitor advertising they are likely to be interested in. A cookie is a small text file that the browser stores on the user’s device. Cookies often contain an anonymous, unique identifier that makes it possible to recognise and count the browsers visiting our site.
You can read more about the Google Analytics terms here.

3.3. Social plugins

Our online service uses social plugins such as Facebook, X (Twitter) or Instagram Like and Share buttons. These social plugin buttons appear in our service, but their content comes directly from the source of the button. A social plugin recognises that the user is logged in to that service, in which case the page displays tailored content in the plugin. Social plugins do not display tailored content if the user is not logged in to that service. Social plugin services may collect information about the visit in accordance with their own privacy terms in force. These services do not disclose the information they collect to UP Global unless the user has separately consented to this.

4. How long is my data stored?

Collected data is stored only for as long as it is needed.

5. How is my personal data protected?

We use the necessary technical security measures to protect personal data. These include the use of firewalls, encryption technologies and secure equipment facilities, appropriate access control, the managed granting of access rights and monitoring of their use, the use of encryption technologies, and instructing the personnel involved in processing personal data. We also make sure that all our subcontractors comply with the data protection law defined by the EU.

6. Links to other websites

We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of external sites linked from our website, nor for their legality or administration. If you notice illegal or offensive content on a site we link to, we would be grateful for your feedback.

7. What choices do I have?

We are committed to offering our users choices and control when it comes to their privacy.

Cookie policy

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file that the internet browser stores on the user’s device. Cookies do not damage the user’s device or files. Using cookies is common practice on most websites. Cookies are generally divided into session cookies and persistent cookies. Session cookies expire when the user stops using the web service; persistent cookies remain in the browser for a certain time, or until the user deletes them.
Cookies serve two purposes. On the one hand they make the website easier to use, for example by remembering the choices and settings a user has made. On the other hand they help in developing the website and analysing usage data. Certain functions do not work without cookies.

How do we use cookies?

We use cookies on our website to improve the user experience, to collect data for marketing purposes and to develop our website. We also use cookies to optimise the speed of our website.

Developing the website

We use cookies to collect visitor statistics for the site and to analyse that data. Among other things we track which pages are visited and how long a visitor stays on different pages. Our aim is to develop the quality and the content of our site.

Marketing

Cookies allow us to show advertisements and offers based on the user’s activity on the website, whether or not they are logged in. We also use cookies in competition forms and in customer surveys.

What types of cookies do we use?

Session cookies

Session cookies expire when the user ends their session in the web service.

Persistent cookies

A persistent cookie has a defined retention period, i.e. a validity period, which determines how long it remains on the computer or mobile device. Such cookies are stored until their validity period ends or until they are deleted manually.

Third-party cookies

Third-party cookies are cookies that another party installs on your device on our behalf. This happens when a service provider produces services for us, such as analytics services or services that allow our pages to be shared on social media. If, for example, you use buttons to share content online with your friends through social media such as Facebook, that third party may set cookies on your device.

You can find more information here:
https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/
https://x.com/en/privacy
https://policies.google.com/privacy

So-called third parties such as advertisers may also use and collect the data gathered through cookies in order to target advertising.

Among other things, we use Google Analytics on our online service to measure the use of our online services (including IP address, device ID, physical location, browser, operator and operating system type, and the related URLs).
You can read more about the Google Analytics terms here.

What can I do about cookies?

Users can clear cookies through their browser settings. Users can also prevent the use of cookies entirely by changing the settings of the browser on the device they use. Blocking cookies may affect the functionality of the service and the targeting of advertising. If a user blocks cookies, they may not be able to make full use of the online service. Most browsers make it possible to switch the cookie function off.
